Nurse Education Jobs

Nurses in this role are responsible for teaching student nurses in all aspects of basic nursing care. The education requirements for this position can vary. If the RN is teaching an assessment class, only a Bachelor's degree may be required. For classes requiring clinical hours, a Master's degree or higher is required. The Education RN must be comfortable enough in her teaching abilities and students' skills to know they have adequately prepared students for a clinical role. When in the clinical setting, students will be working under their instructor's RN license. Any mistakes made are the responsibility of the instructor, not the student. Clinical experience of not less than three years is typically required for this position. Instructors in the university settings are also required to perform studies, publish academic papers and speak at conferences. This is one of the requirements to obtain tenure at the university. Education based RNs can also be found in teaching facilities for LPNs and CNAs.
